Verse of the Week
Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Hebrews 12:2
"fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
1 Peter 5:7
" casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."
Weekly Message
As men, we carry many responsibilities, such as caring for ourselves, our wives, our children, our work, and so much more. This weight is heavy, and it’s not meant to be carried alone. Christ calls us to lay our burdens at His feet, to take off the yoke of striving on our own, and to surrender everything to Him.
Jesus promises that the weight of this world can be lifted from our shoulders. That doesn’t mean we won’t face trials, pressures, or hard times; rather, it means that even in the midst of life’s pressures, we have a Savior who is the author and finisher of our faith.
Our task is to stand firm against what seeks to destroy our lives, but we are not without a solution. The ultimate solution is surrender. By placing our trust in God, we find the solution to our worries. Our hope must rest in the One who sustains us.
Lean on God, not on your own understanding. Surrender your will, your emotions, your struggles to the One who overcame the world and commanded us not to be anxious, even in tribulation.
The path forward is simple yet powerful: Surrender and Pray!
Weekly prayer
God, we thank you for the promise of victory and the opportunity we have to lay our burdens at your feet. We pray that the Holy Spirit leads us in the responsibilities we hold as Godly men. We pray over those we lead, asking that your grace and love cover our interactions with them. Today, we decide to surrender our worries and choose to pursue you first. In the powerful name of Jesus, AMEN.
Interaction Question
What burdens am I currently carrying that I have been trying to handle on my own, and how can I intentionally lay them at Jesus’ feet today?
In what areas of my life (emotions, decisions, relationships) do I need to trust God more instead of relying on my own understanding?
