Freedom from Rules, and New Life in Jesus Christ!

Verse of the Week

Colossians 2:6-7 NLT And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Weekly Message

Those who accepted Christ in faith ought to walk, to live, and think by faith as well.

There are three components of our faith:

- Be rooted in Christ, like a tree well rooted in the ground! The believers’ only source is Christ!

- Be built up in Christ, like a building that the Power of Christ constructs! Only Christ can build up or mature a person.

- Be established in the Faith!  Referring to maturity or something within us that is firmly decided!

This requires us to die to ourselves daily,  put on our armour, and keep our minds set on things above.  For this to be possible, we are not required to follow a set of rules that we have been freed from.  We now surrender by allowing Him complete access, and keeping in contact with Him throughout our day!

We must allow the Holy Spirit full access and allow Him to direct our every step.

Weekly prayer

Father God, I love you with all my heart and long to be a reflection of You that the Holy Spirit works through Your Word. Teach me today to be a vessel for You. Teach me to put all my confidence and hope in You! I thank You that You can work in my life. To break any self-reliance and to live a life completely surrendered.  I thank You, I don't have to walk this out alone, but guided by the Holy Spirit, with a community of believers.

I believe that in today’s binocular, we are more worried about breaking men’s law when it suppose to be the total opposite. Weather sinners or saved, we sin against God first.

Do we have more of a fear of what man thinks of us, or what God knows about us?

We should have a healthy fear of what God knows about us instead of a worldly fear of what men thinks.
